Job summary

The City of Cedar Park is seeking an Equipment Operator I in Field Operations - Public Works to perform maintenance, street and drainage tasks, operate light equipment and support street repairs.

Requirements include a high school diploma, 1–2 years maintenance experience, Texas driver's license and relevant certifications; willingness to obtain work zone/flagger certification within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of general maintenance experience.
• OR any approved equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
• IMSA/TEEX Work Zone/Flagger certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Operate light equipment and tools as listed in duties.
• Load, transport, and unload equipment and materials for projects.
• Check oil, water, fuel, and tires; perform routine inspections.
• Grade, maintain, patch, seal cracks, resurface streets, and repair potholes.
• Set up and take down of road work traffic control zones; barricades to warn traffic.
