Job summary

Lake Metroparks seeks a Park Buildings and Grounds Manager to lead maintenance at Painesville Township Park, Fairport Harbor Lakefront Park, and other sites. The role oversees staff, coordinates daily operations, and ensures parks are safe, clean, accessible, and welcoming, with occasional after-hours duties.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, 2+ years in maintenance or related fields, and supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED; two years in maintenance, facilities, parks operations, or related field preferred.
• Experience supervising employees or leading work crews is required.
• Must possess valid driver’s license; pesticide license preferred; CPR/First Aid preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance staff and seasonal workers at multiple park sites.
• Plan and direct daily grounds, facility, and custodial operations to keep parks safe and welcoming.
• Coordinate setup for programs, rentals, and events.
• Perform and supervise routine electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and repair work.
• Track tools, equipment, inventory, and maintenance expenses.
• Assist with capital improvement project planning and documentation.
