Job summary

Huron–Clinton Metroparks is seeking a Park Maintenance Worker at Level 04/06 to perform a broad range of building, grounds, and park maintenance tasks. Responsibilities include mowing, plowing, turf care, and operating a variety of maintenance equipment.

The role supports safety, reporting, and on-call issues as needed. Qualifications include an Associate degree or 4+ years of related experience, a valid Michigan driver’s license, and pesticide/ CDL certifications or the ability to obtain them.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or four years of related experience.
• Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Pesticide Applicator License (PAL) including core and categories 3A, 3B, 6 or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• CDL–A with air or ability to obtain within 1 year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Mow grass and pick up litter on medians and road shoulders during growing season.
• Plow and salt hike/bike path as needed.
• Maintain turf, landscape areas and plantings.
• Operate park maintenance equipment for construction and grounds work.
• Repair and maintain building utilities and perform basic plumbing, HVAC, electrical tasks.
