Job summary

Penn State is seeking a Customer Service Representative to support university transportation and parking services, handling daily and event parking for faculty, staff, students, and visitors. The role emphasizes strong customer service and clear communication in outdoor settings.

Hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with mandatory overtime for football games and events. Requires a valid driver’s license, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and mobility outdoors in all weather.

Qualifications

• GED or HS diploma with 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work outdoors and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Serve in a direct, face-to-face customer service role at campus parking decks or events.
• Manage daily parking at gated decks, redirect visitors when full, assist with entry/exit and payments.
• Conduct space counts and walkthroughs of facilities.
• Explain campus parking rules and regulations.
• Promote alternative parking and transportation options.
• Oversee part-time and temporary staff during events.
• Assist with event setup and teardown.
• Handle event sales and mobile payments.
• Use ArcGIS, T2, SWARCO, INDECT, and Honk software.
• Take intercom calls to assist guests.
