The City of Albany is seeking a dependable, service-minded professional to join the Police Department as a part-time Parking Enforcement & Traffic Control Technician. This civilian, non-sworn role combines independent field work, community interaction, and practical problem-solving to help keep streets, driveways, fire zones, and public spaces safe and accessible.
Under general supervision, you will perform the full range of routine parking enforcement and traffic-control duties. You will spend much of your day in the community—patrolling City streets, responding to concerns, explaining parking regulations, andassistingduring traffic or emergency situations.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who works well independently, communicates confidently with people from all backgrounds, and can balance sound judgment with fairness, tact, and professionalism.

Background Investigation*
A thorough investigation of personal history, including but not limited to work history, education, military, arrest record, etc., will be conducted on candidates certified to the Police Department.
Conditional Job Offer**
Candidates may be provided with a conditional job offer. After receiving a conditional offer of employment, candidates must successfully complete a required DMV history assessment, psychological examination and medical examination prior to appointment.
