The City of Alpharetta is seeking a Parking Enforcement Officer to patrol city streets, enforce parking laws, and issue citations. The role includes assisting motorists, documenting enforcement actions, and maintaining related records.
Under supervision of a Police Sergeant, the incumbent will learn city regulations, complete required training, and maintain equipment while providing courteous service to the public in all weather conditions.
Under the general direction of a Police Sergeant, patrols the city to identify vehicles that violate City and State parking ordinances and laws and take appropriate enforcement actions. Performs a variety of clerical duties required to document and process enforcement actions. Assists motorists and visitors as needed.

Physical: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, and walk moderate distances with exposure to significant levels of heat, cold, moisture, and air pollution such as those encountered in general outdoor conditions; talk and hear, both in person and by radio; use hands to handle, feel or operate equipment; engage in repetitive movements of hands and wrists; reach with hands and arms; stoop, bend, kneel/crouch and occasionally lift or move up to forty pounds.
Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction; vision sufficient to read computer screens and printed documents and to operate the equipment.
Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
