Job summary

City of San Marcos, Texas is seeking a Parking Technician to enforce parking ordinances, patrol designated areas, and issue citations. The role supports public education on regulations and operates enforcement technology to ensure safe, orderly parking throughout the city.

The position requires ability to respond to parking-related complaints, assist with events, and coordinate booting and towing. Candidates must have a high school diploma, a valid Texas driver’s license, and CJIS security

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
• CJIS Security Awareness training due within 90 days; recertification every two years.
• Must be available to work days, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Patrol designated areas to identify parking violations and issue citations.
• Enforce timed parking regulations by observing parked vehicles and documenting violations.
• Boots vehicles and coordinates towing of illegally parked or abandoned vehicles.
• Maintains mobile citation equipment and related parking enforcement technology.
• Assists with wrecker enforcement activities, including TDLR investigations.
• Provides training support to CPAAA members in ticket writing.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
