Job summary

SP+ is seeking a parking enforcement officer to monitor streets, lots, and campus areas for policy compliance in Roanoke, VA. You will answer questions, issue citations, and relocate vehicles as directed, often working alone with professional judgment.

Ideal candidates demonstrate geography knowledge, safety awareness, and the ability to operate a handheld device and a vehicle. Duties include assisting with maintenance and event-related parking tasks, while adhering to all safety policies.

Qualifications

• Geography knowledge of enforcement area.
• Hazards and safety awareness.
• Ability to use a handheld computer.
• Ability to operate a motorized vehicle or bicycle.
• Ability to understand and apply parking regulations.
• Ability to interact with others in a courteous manner.
• Ability to walk for extended periods.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Must be 18 years of age or older at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Monitor designated streets, lots, garages, or campus for policy compliance.
• Provide customer service by answering questions regarding directions, events, building locations and parking policies.
• Issue citations and warnings for non-compliance; impound, boot or relocate vehicles as directed.
• Work alone and exercise proper judgment, tact and diplomacy in dealing with people.
• Assist maintenance staff with parking equipment upkeep and facility maintenance.
• Assist in collection and security of parking revenues and fees.
• Assist event staff with parking for events and lot usage control.
• Assist with permit sales during peak seasons and data entry tasks.
