Job summary

City of College Park is seeking a full-time Parking Enforcement Officer to join the Public Services Department. The role involves patrolling areas on foot and in a City vehicle, enforcing parking rules, and providing excellent public service in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Successful candidates will balance enforcement with public interaction, and may use LPR tech, park meters, and pay stations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Experience using smart devices and tablets.
• Working knowledge of Windows-based laptops and Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with videoconferencing tools such as Zoom.

Responsibilities

• Issuing citations for parking violations in accordance with City codes and ordinances.
• Using license plate recognition (LPR) technology to enforce residential permit parking.
• Monitoring and enforcing parking meters, public garages, and surface lots.
• Booting or impounding vehicles when necessary.
• Servicing and replacing parking meters and pay stations.
• Providing information and assistance to residents, visitors, and local businesses.
• Appearing in court when required.
