Job summary

City of Colorado Springs is seeking a Parking Enforcement Officer I to enforce parking ordinances and support community relations within the Public Works team. The role involves patrolling, issuing citations, and liaising with merchants and residents to explain city policies.

The successful candidate will work a Friday–Tuesday schedule, possess a high school diploma or GED, have at least one year of related professional experience, and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade (high school diploma or GED).
• One year of full-time, professional experience in a related field.
• Possess, or obtain upon hire, and maintain a valid, non-probationary driver’s license not subject to restrictions.

Responsibilities

• Issue citations to offenders.
• Monitor areas to ensure parking ordinance compliance.
• Maintain relationships with merchants and residents in patrol areas.
• Testify in court as required.
• Respond to abandoned vehicle complaints and initiate impoundment.
• Assist with special events as needed.
