Job summary

Six Flags Great America & Hurricane Harbor Park Services Hospitality Leadership Internship is a hands-on program focused on maintaining park cleanliness while developing leadership skills among team members. Interns will oversee assigned areas, ensure standards are upheld, and work with Unit Supervisors to coordinate actions and daily tasks.

Qualifications

• Minimum Age: 18.
• Able to work all shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays where at least 50% of availability must include closing shifts.
• Above average communication skills.
• Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to communicate effectively in the English language, reading, speaking and understanding English.
• Stand/walk for up to 5 hours at a time and up to 16 hours a day.
• Walk up to 10 miles per day over various surfaces.
• Willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Professional, self-motivated with ability to multitask and enthusiastic.
• Strong teamwork skills and ability to work with others.
• Able to carry up to 25 lbs. over 25 feet across surfaces.

Responsibilities

• Greet Unit Supervisors, Team Members and co-workers in a friendly, outgoing manner.
• Follow guidelines and checklists for Park cleanliness.
• Follow Park policies regarding performance and attendance.
• Serve as a liaison between Team Members, Unit Supervisors and Full-Time Management.
• Complete daily inspection paperwork.
• Round the Park to ensure overall Area and restroom cleanliness.
• Assist with opening/closing procedures in assigned area.
• Ensure staffing levels match Guest attendance.
• Coach and correct Team Members; report infractions to Duty Manager.
• Maintain safe and efficient area operation.
• Train Team Members to perform essential job functions.
• Maintain cleanliness in restrooms, midways and restaurant/patio locations.
