Job summary

Six Flags Great America & Hurricane Harbor offers a Public Safety Security & Loss Prevention Internship in Illinois. Interns gain hands-on experience in surveillance, incident response, and theft prevention while working with seasoned professionals in a large theme park environment.

Responsibilities include attending required trainings, maintaining grooming standards, interacting with guests and Park management, and supporting security operations across entrances, patrols, and Lost & Found.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• Must possess a valid Driver’s License.
• Must be able to stand and/or walk 8–12 hours daily.
• Outdoor work in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Attend Park Discovery and Security training as required.
• Meet HR requirements for internship program and attend intern events.
• Maintain grooming and uniform guidelines as dictated by Security policies.
• Interact with guests and Park management daily; assist and advise when needed.
• Communicate effectively with guests and team members via in person, phone, or radio.
• Complete required Six Flags Public Safety - Security certification tests.
• Screen guests at entrances and monitor entry flow to minimize wait times.
• Validate park employee IDs and visitor clearances at gates.
• Respond to security incidents, emergencies, and requests for assistance.
• Operate POS and scanning devices for parking and traffic control.
• Assist with Lost & Found procedures and lost child reports.
• Monitor surveillance, alarms, dispatch calls, and maintain confidential records.
• Support overall Security operations and ensure cleanliness of work area.
