Six Flags Great America & Hurricane Harbor offers a seasonal Safety Supervisor Intern position with internship credit opportunity. The role supports the Safety Manager in maintaining park safety programs and inspections for guests and team members from May through August, averaging 35–40 hours per week, including weekends and holidays.

In this internship, you will conduct safety investigations, write incident reports, inspect safety equipment, respond to emergencies, and communicate safety

Formación

• Age 18 years or older.
• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Enrolled in Occupational Safety or Fire Science courses for at least one semester.
• Some knowledge of safety and/or fire prevention procedures.
• Valid Driver’s License; Park Vehicle Operator’s Permit.
• Strong written and verbal communications.
• Basic knowledge of computers and copiers.
• Reliable means of transportation to and from work.
• Ability to handle moderate levels of stress related to high workload.
• Flexible to changes.
• Available to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be professional, self-motivated, the ability to multi-task and have an enthusiastic attitude.
• Must have strong teamwork skills and ability to work with others.
• Knowledge of layout of the park helpful.

Responsabilidades

• Demonstrate an interest in addressing safety concerns to maintain a safe environment for guests and team members.
• Conduct Safety Investigations by responding to park locations to gather facts and statements regarding accidents and incidents.
• Write accurate and legible reports of accidents and incidents for review by Safety Department Management.
• Maintain and inspect fire detection and suppression equipment and other safety equipment.
• Rapid response to emergency situations: Fires, Fire Alarms, Ride Incidents, First Aid calls, Vehicle accidents.
• Communicate in a timely manner with the Safety Manager on safety related incidents.
• Verbally communicate Safety and First Aid information to management team during daily briefings.
• Identify hazards from inspection data and take action to eliminate them.
• Maintain relationships with park departments to ensure safety.
• Complete safety audits daily, including ride and facility audits using an electronic tablet.
• Communicate using park radios and 10-code system.
• Maintain confidentiality of employment, medical and operational information.
• Coordinate with Resource Protections and HR on drug/alcohol screenings and testing procedures.
• Assist First Aid crews on calls as directed.
• Safely operate motor vehicles and golf carts (automatic and manual).
• Maintain professional relations with guests and team members.
• Adhere to park labor policies on breaks, shift length and work types.
