Job summary

Carowinds is seeking an Area Manager of Security to lead daily operations, supervise security staff, and ensure adherence to park policies and laws. You will develop security plans, emergency procedures, and loss prevention programs while partnering with local law enforcement and fire/EMS agencies.

The role requires a proactive, calm leader able to manage teams in a fast‑paced environment and uphold the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or Law Enforcement Management.
• 1–4 years related experience in law enforcement.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to obtain NC/SC armed Security Officer certifications.
• Ability to obtain SC SLED certifications as Armed Security Officer and Trainer.
• Ability to obtain a certificate in non-confrontational investigative interviewing techniques.
• Highly organized, self-motivated and able to perform under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Captains, Sergeants, Corporals, and support staff.
• Ensure department compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
• Monitor patrol and investigations ensuring policy adherence.
• Communicate via two-way radio and telephones.
• Respond to and investigate violations; compile evidence and reports.
• Represent department at court hearings when required.
• Coordinate activities with supervisory staff and management.
• Maintain responsiveness for major incidents and emergencies.
