Job summary

Carowinds Area Manager of Security leads the park's safety and security operations, supervising personnel and daily activities while ensuring compliance with park policies and applicable laws. This role requires proactive leadership and the ability to manage in a fast-paced environment.

The position develops security plans, emergency procedures, and loss prevention initiatives, maintaining strong partnerships with local law enforcement and emergency services to safeguard guests and associates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or Law Enforcement Management required.
• 1–4 years related law enforcement experience.
• Must be at least 21 years old and able to obtain security certifications.

Responsibilities

• Supervises security personnel and support staff.
• Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
• Monitors patrol and investigative activities for policy compliance.
• Communicates via radio/phone.
• Responds to and investigates incidents, gathers evidence, and prepares reports.
• Attends court hearings representing the department.
• Maintains liaison with supervisory staff to coordinate activities.
• Ensures availability for major incidents and emergencies.
• Develops and delivers departmental trainings and maintains records.
• Assists in budget preparation and monitors expenditures.
• Analyzes risk and loss prevention strategies to safeguard assets.
