Job summary

Carowinds is hiring an Area Manager of Security to lead the Security Department, ensuring safety for guests and associates. The role oversees daily operations, supervises officers, and maintains compliance with laws and park policies in a fast-paced environment.

The position requires a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice or related field, 1–4 years of law enforcement, and security certifications with leadership skills to manage an expanding team and partnership with local agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or related field is required.
• 1–4 years of law enforcement experience preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to obtain NC/SC armed security certifications and SLED credentials.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Captains, Sergeants, Corporals, and security staff.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and park policies.
• Oversee patrols, investigations, and evidence collection; prepare reports.
• Coordinate communications via radio/phone and represent department in court when needed.
• Maintain contact with supervisory staff to align department activities.
• Support scheduling, training, and budgeting for the Security team.
• Develop and update departmental procedures and training materials.
• Lead in loss prevention strategies and technology utilization.
