The City of Columbia is seeking a Park Maintenance Worker to support Finlay Park and related facilities. The role involves directing, coordinating and performing maintenance, repair, and construction projects on grounds and structures, and ensuring attractive, safe, and clean park areas for the public.

Responsibilities include supervising tasks, planning daily duties, maintaining equipment, and providing excellent customer service to park visitors.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of relevant prior experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid South Carolina Class D Driver’s License or equivalent may be required.

Responsabilités

• Directs the safe operation and maintenance of power and hand tools and equipment.
• Keeps park facilities clean, maintained and ready for public use; handles routine repairs.
• Plans daily duties for staff and sets priorities to meet deadlines.
• Maintains safe work environment and enforces safety rules.
• Assists in groundskeeping, landscaping and general park maintenance tasks.
• Interacts with the public and provides information about park facilities or activities.
