Job summary

The City of Columbia, SC is looking for a Grounds Maintenance worker to assist with the operation and upkeep of Three Rivers Greenway and related City facilities. You will coordinate maintenance projects on grounds and facilities, helping keep park grounds attractive, clean and safe, under general supervision.

This role requires physical activity, flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, and effective communication with the public and staff. Teamwork and safety are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of relevant experience preferred.
• Valid South Carolina Class D Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Directs safe operation and maintenance of tools and equipment.
• Maintains park facilities for public use and daily readiness.
• Plans and assigns daily duties for staff.
• Establishes priorities and schedules work efficiently.
• Mentors staff and ensures a safe work environment.
