Job summary

West Virginia is seeking an assistant park superintendent to help manage a multi-facility state park, including a lodge, conference center, restaurant, cabins, and trails. The role focuses on increasing occupancy, promoting overnight packages, and boosting revenue across lodging, retail, and revenue centers.

Ideal candidates have 3 years in related fields with at least 2 years in supervisory roles and hold a Bachelor's degree.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of full-time or equivalent paid experience in a state park, natural resources, tourism, or environmental industry, two years in supervisory capacity.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; substitution allowed at 1 year experience per 30 credit hours.
• Valid driver's license required; WV license within six months.

Responsibilities

• Assist in increasing lodging occupancy through rate management and packaging; promote group rentals of conference facilities.
• Increase park revenue across lodging, retail, and food service with superior hospitality.
• Hire, train, motivate, and discipline staff; oversee housekeeping standards and purchases.
• Respond to emergencies and perform related law enforcement duties as needed.
