Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (DNCR) invites applications for the Maintenance/Construction Technician II (S) position at Jordan Lake State Park in Apex, NC. The role focuses on hands-on grounds, buildings, facilities, and equipment maintenance.

Hours are typically Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM, with possible evening or weekend work. Ideal candidates have hands-on trade skills, are comfortable with carpentry, plumbing, electrical work and basic auto mechanics,

Qualifications

• Demonstrated work experience performing trades in carpentry, plumbing, electrical and/or auto mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Performing a variety of semi-skilled tasks in a trade such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC and facility maintenance, and/or auto mechanics.
• Operating large and small equipment and/or tools.
• Purchasing resources in accordance with state purchasing policies and procedures.
• Maintaining records and preparing operational forms.
• Assisting in housekeeping.
• May supervise temporary and permanent staff, community service participates, and/or volunteers on special projects.
