Job summary

State of Missouri at Lake of the Ozarks State Park in Brumley, MO is seeking a maintenance worker responsible for the upkeep and repair of park facilities and grounds. The role involves work across electrical, plumbing, carpentry, concrete, masonry, painting, and mechanical areas, plus routine cleaning and equipment operation.

The position requires physical stamina, the ability to lift 25 pounds, and willingness to participate in training for licenses/certifications.

Qualifications

• Technical understanding gained through formal training or extensive on-the-job experience.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to bend, lift, climb, stand, and walk for long periods; perform moderately heavy labor.
• Excellent problem-solving with judgment to evaluate alternatives.
• Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools for construction and repair.

Responsibilities

• Perform semi-skilled work in alteration, maintenance, natural resource stewardship, and repair of state buildings and facilities.
• Work across electrical, plumbing, carpentry, concrete, masonry, painting, plastering, and mechanical repair in park settings.
• Routine cleaning of park buildings, restrooms, campsites, and grounds.
• Maintain a valid driver's license and operate licensed vehicles and equipment.
• Operate and maintain lawn mowers, tractors, skid loaders, trucks, chainsaws and similar gear.
• Assist with prescribed burns, wildfire suppression, and herbicide application as trained.
• Oversee a crew engaged in maintenance tasks when assigned.
• Walk long distances on uneven terrain; lift 25 pounds with/without accommodations.
• May need to obtain and maintain licenses/certifications within six months.
