Job summary

St. Catherine of Siena Church in Austin, TX seeks a Parish Business Administrator to oversee financial, administrative, personnel, and facilities functions.

You will help maintain reliable records, advise the Pastor on stewardship, and ensure proper internal controls while supporting the parish’s mission. The role reports to the Pastor and requires collaboration with the Parish Finance Council and diocesan offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, or related field preferred.
• Five years of progressively responsible experience in business administration, accounting, finance, or related operations preferred.
• Experience with budgets, payroll, internal controls, and employee or vendor coordination; supervisory experience preferred.
• English proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing.
• Must maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.

Responsibilities

• Oversee parish daily financial operations including accounting, budgeting, accounts payable/receivable, cash management, and financial reporting.
• Develop and monitor the annual parish operating budget with the Pastor and leadership.
• Review financial statements and variances; propose corrective actions.
• Maintain internal controls and documentation per diocesan requirements.
• Coordinate audits and reporting with the Diocese and external professionals.
• Lead parish administrative, personnel, and facilities management functions.
