Job summary

St. Ann Catholic Church is seeking an Accounting Specialist to manage the parish’s day-to-day financial operations. The role requires strong accounting skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to accurate records while supporting the Church’s mission.

The position is full-time in a parish office setting, working closely with parish leadership and staff to ensure stewardship of financial resources. Prior church or nonprofit experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business admin, or related field preferred.
• Previous experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or financial administration required.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records including general ledger, AP and AR.
• Process invoices, payments, deposits, and reimbursements.
• Reconcile bank accounts and financial transactions regularly.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and assist with budgets and year-end reporting.
• Record and reconcile parish contributions and donor information with confidentiality.
• Assist with payroll processing and employee financial records.
• Monitor expenses and ensure compliance with financial policies.
• Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation.
• Maintain organized records following diocesan guidelines.
• Collaborate with Pastor, staff, and diocesan personnel on financial matters.
