Job summary

Bowen Health is seeking a Skills Technician to support families in homes, clinics, and communities. You will advocate, teach, and model new skills toward self-sufficiency, and may transport patients to appointments while coordinating with a Case Manager.

Experience in mental health settings is preferred; CPI and BLS/First Aid certifications are required after hire. A valid driver's license is essential to operate Bowen vehicles and serve diverse caseloads.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or 60+ credits; high school diploma with 4+ years experience considered
• Two years of mental health setting experience preferred
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification to be obtained after hire
• BLS and First Aid certifications to be obtained after hire
• Valid driver’s license and active auto insurance coverage

Responsibilities

• Review and update patient intake information for accuracy
• Coordinate homemaker services with Case Manager according to care plan
• Instruct patients in home hygiene, budgeting, and daily living activities
• Advocate, teach, demonstrate, monitor, and model appropriate housekeeping
• Assist families in private homes with cleanliness and household utilities
• Transport patients to appointments in surrounding counties while following traffic laws
• Perform basic vehicle maintenance and fuel/tank checks
• Ensure patients follow bus procedures when traveling with them
• Build natural support systems and promote patient independence
• Participate in medical appointments with staff and document times accurately
