Job summary

Center for Volunteer & Nonprofit Leadership (CVNL) seeks a Routing & Scheduling Specialist for Sonoma County Paratransit. You will handle calls, inquiries, and complaints, dispatch drivers, document issues, and support scheduling of paratransit rides.

You’ll collaborate with drivers and partners, monitor routes, and maintain records. The role emphasizes team work, accuracy, and continuous process improvement in a demanding service environment.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in logistics, transportation management, or related field preferred or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in routing and scheduling, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
• DOT/FTA drug screening compliance.
• Strong organizational skills with multiple concurrent tasks.
• Excellent communication with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience with transportation management software and tools.
• Knowledge of local transportation regulations and best practices.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate transportation routes and schedules for nonprofit programs.
• Collaborate with providers to secure resources and optimize routing.
• Dispatch drivers with clear instructions and updates on changes.
• Maintain accurate records of trips, drivers, and passenger data.
• Monitor operations and address delays to minimize disruptions.
• Communicate with vendors and staff about routing and scheduling.
• Attend Paratransit and CVNL meetings and contribute to operations.
• Identify process improvements and cost savings in logistics.
