Job summary

Henry County School District's Huntley High School is hiring a full-time Special Education Assistant for the 2026–2027 school year (10 months).

Responsibilities include assisting students with special needs, following a strict schedule, supporting the teacher, and helping meet IEP goals while ensuring safety.

Qualifications: hold an ELS paraprofessional license or a Professional Educator License (PEL); strong communication and basic math/computer skills.

Qualifications

• Must hold an ELS (Paraprofessional) license or PEL.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to communicate with all levels of staff, parents and students.
• Basic math and computer skills as well as some general office skills are needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with special needs throughout the day with academics and daily school routines.
• Assist students in following a strict schedule and maintaining safety while school is in session.
• Assist the teacher with miscellaneous classroom tasks.
• Support the students and teacher to ensure success of each student in meeting his/her IEP goals.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
