Job summary

Harris Regional Medical Center in Sylva, NC is seeking a Paramedic to join Harris EMS on a PRN basis. Shifts vary between 12- and 24-hours with rotating weekends.

As part of our team you will respond to emergencies, deliver advanced and basic life support, and ensure the unit is equipped and ready for multiple or single incidents. You will support flexible coverage across western North Carolina.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; an Associate's degree or higher is preferred.
• Current North Carolina Paramedic license; National Registry preferred.
• Two years' experience as a full-time Paramedic preferred.
• CPR and advanced certifications (ACLS/ALS) required.
• PALS or PEPP certification required.
• BTLS/PHTLS/ITLS/TECC or TCCC must be acquired within 6 months and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency and non-emergency situations with life support.
• Ensure unit is properly equipped, stocked, and prepared for incidents.
• Be responsible for schedules and coverage if other personnel are unavailable.
• Shift work involves a mix of days, nights, and 24-hour coverage across service area.

Working as a team, respond, treat, and react quickly and calmly to emergency and non-emergency situations to provide efficient and immediate, advanced and basic life support, care to the ill and injured. Ensure that during a shift that the assigned unit is properly equipped, stocked, and prepared to respond to a single or multiple patient incidents. Shift work requires a mixture of days, nights, and twenty-four-hour coverage to ensure adequate coverage for the service. What We're Looking For

The following qualifications are the minimum requirements necessary to adequately perform this job. However, an equivalent combination of experience, education and training which provides the necessary knowledge skills and abilities would be acceptable, subject to any legal and/or regulatory requirements.

• High School Diploma required. Associate's degree or higher is preferred.
• Current North Carolina Paramedic, National Registry Preferred.
• Two years' experience as a full time Paramedic desired
• AHA, ARC, ASHI/HSI CPR
• AHA, ARC, ASHI/HSI ACLS/ALS
• AHA, ARC, ASHI/HSI PALS, or PEPP
• BTLS/PHTLS/ITLS/TECC or TCCC , acquire within 6 months, then maintain thereafter
