Job summary

Harris Regional Medical Center in Sylva, NC is seeking an Advanced EMT to join our team on a full-time basis. You will respond to emergencies, provide advanced and basic life support, and ensure the unit is properly equipped and staffed for single or multiple patient incidents.

Join a dedicated team delivering compassionate patient care across a regional service area, with rotating shifts (days/nights/24-hour coverage) and a strong commitment to professional development and employee well-being.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements include High School Diploma; Associate's degree or higher preferred.
• Current Advanced EMT Certification; National Registry preferred.
• One year EMT experience preferred; CPR certifications from CPR providers (AHA/ARC/ASHI/HSI).

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency and non-emergency incidents with speed and professionalism.
• Provide advanced life support and basic life support as needed.
• Ensure unit readiness, including equipment, supplies, and coverage for shifts.

Working as a team, respond, treat, and react quickly and calmly to emergency and non-emergency situations to provide efficient and immediate, advanced and basic life support, care to the ill and injured. Ensure that during a shift that the assigned unit is properly equipped, stocked, and prepared to respond a single or multiple patient incidents.Ensure that during a shift that the assigned unit is properly equipped, stocked, and prepared to respond to single or multiple patient incidents. Be responsible for schedules and coverage if other personnel are not available to cover a shift. Shift work requires a mixture of days, nights, and twenty-four-hour coverage to ensure adequate coverage for the service. Harris EMS area of operation including patient's houses, infrastructures, hospitals, and long-term care facilities

What we're looking for

The following qualifications are the minimum requirements necessary to adequately perform this job.However, an equivalent combination of experience, education and training which provides the necessary knowledge skills and abilities would be acceptable, subject to any legal and/or regulatory requirements.

• High School Diploma required.Associate's degree or higher is preferred.
• Current Advanced EMT Certification, National Registry Preferred.
• One-year EMT experience, preferred.
• AHA, ARC, ASHI/HSI CPR.
