Job summary

Harris Regional Medical Center in Sylva, North Carolina, seeks a dedicated Paramedic to join our EMS team. You will respond to emergencies and provide advanced and basic life support while ensuring the unit is prepared and stocked for rapid responses.

The role requires a NC Paramedic license (National Registry preferred), CPR and ACLS/ALS, and a willingness to obtain PALS/PEPP and other trauma certifications within six months. Shift schedules include days, nights, and 24-hour coverage.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Associate's degree or higher preferred.
• Current North Carolina Paramedic license required; National Registry preferred.
• Two years' experience as a full-time Paramedic is desired.
• CPR, ACLS/ALS, and PALS or PEPP certifications required or obtained.
• BTLS/PHTLS/ITLS/TECC or TCCC to be acquired within 6 months and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls and provide advanced and basic life support.
• Ensure the assigned unit is properly equipped, stocked, and prepared to respond to incidents.
• Be responsible for shift coverage and scheduling when needed.
• Work a mix of days, nights, and 24-hour shifts per Harris EMS operations.

Working as a team, respond, treat, and react quickly and calmly to emergency and non-emergency situations to provide efficient and immediate, advanced and basic life support, care to the ill and injured. Ensure that during a shift that the assigned unit is properly equipped, stocked, and prepared to respond a single or multiple patient incidents.Ensure that during a shift that the assigned unit is properly equipped, stocked, and prepared to respond to single or multiple patient incidents. Be responsible for schedules and coverage if other personnel are not available to cover a shift. Shift work requires a mixture of days, nights, and twenty-four-hour coverage to ensure adequate coverage for the service. What we're looking for

The following qualifications are the minimum requirements necessary to adequately perform this job.However, an equivalent combination of experience, education and training which provides the necessary knowledge skills and abilities would be acceptable, subject to any legal and/or regulatory requirements.

• High School Diploma required.Associate's degree or higher is preferred.
• Current North Carolina Paramedic, National Registry Preferred.
• Two years' experience as a full time Paramedic desired
• AHA, ARC, ASHI/HSI CPR
• AHA, ARC, ASHI/HSI ACLS/ALS
• AHA, ARC, ASHI/HSI PALS, or PEPP
• BTLS/PHTLS/ITLS/TECC or TCCC , acquire within 6 months, then maintain thereafter
