Job summary

Harris Regional Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Harris Advanced EMT in Sylva, NC. Join a dedicated EMS team providing advanced life support and basic life support.

This full‑time role features a rotating schedule with 24/72 or 12‑hour shifts and weekends. Requirements include a High School Diploma (Associate's degree preferred), current Advanced EMT Certification (National Registry preferred), and about one year EMT experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Associate's degree or higher preferred.
• Active Advanced EMT Certification; National Registry preferred.
• Minimum 1 year EMT experience preferred; CPR certifications required (AHA/ARC/HSI).

Responsibilities

• Respond and provide advanced and basic life support to emergencies.
• Ensure unit readiness, equipment, and supply levels during shifts.
• Manage schedules and coverage when staff are unavailable.

Responsibilities

Working as a team, respond, treat, and react quickly and calmly to emergency and non-emergency situations to provide efficient and immediate, advanced and basic life support, care to the ill and injured. Ensure that during a shift that the assigned unit is properly equipped, stocked, and prepared to respond to a single or multiple patient incidents. Be responsible for schedules and coverage if other personnel are not available to cover a shift. Shift work requires a mixture of days, nights, and twenty -four -hour coverage to ensure adequate coverage for the service. Harris EMS area of operation includes patient's houses, infrastructures, hospitals, and long -term care facilities.

The duties described herein are minimum standards and may be modified to meet the changing needs of Harris Health System at any time.

Requirements

• High School Diploma required. Associate's degree or higher is preferred.
• Current Advanced EMT Certification, National Registry Preferred.
• One-year EMT experience, preferred.
• AHA, ARC, ASHI/HSI CPR.
