Job summary

CSL is seeking qualified medical professionals to support donor plasma collection operations. The role involves evaluating donor suitability for pheresis, providing limited emergency medical care, and interviewing donors to obtain medical histories for donation eligibility.

Collaborate with the Center Medical Director on donor suitability, review test results, and counsel donors with reactive results. Adhere to SOPs and escalate critical cases to physicians as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program.
• If graduation is from a foreign allopathic or osteopathic medical school, must also currently be licensed as a physician or state certification as an EMT.
• For NY: current state licensure or certification as an RN, MD or DO in the state you are applying for work or in a reciprocal state
• Minimum of one (1) year relevant experience in a health care environment
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred
• Ability to make and analyze a physical assessment of heart, lung sounds, signs of drug use, etc.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff including administering medication or treatments as licensed.
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews to determine donation suitability.
• Collaborate with Center Medical Director to answer questions on donor suitability.
• Review test results and determine continued donor suitability; assess donor symptoms.
• Notify and counsel donors regarding reactive test results and refer for follow-up.
• Follow SOPs; escalate critical medical situations to Center Physician or local medical services as required.
