Job summary

CSL is seeking personnel to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures and to provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff. You will interview donors, review medical histories, and work with the Center Medical Director on donor suitability matters.

Responsibilities include reviewing test results, counseling donors on reactive results, and following SOPs while escalating critical medical situations to the Center Physician or local medical services as required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program
• If graduation is from a foreign allopathic or osteopathic medical school, must also currently be licensed as a physician or state certification as an emergency medical technician
• For NY: current state licensure or certification as an RN, MD or DO in the state you are applying for work or in a reciprocal state
• Minimum of one (1) year relevant experience in a health care environment
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred
• Ability to make and analyze a physical assessment of heart, lung sounds, signs of drug use, etc.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff within licensure or certification
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews
• Collaborate with Center Medical Director to address donor suitability questions
• Review test results to determine continued donor suitability
• Notify and counsel donors regarding reactive test results and refer for follow-up
• Provide routine care following SOPs and escalate critical medical situations as needed
