Job summary

Baptist Health System, Inc. in Kentucky is seeking a part-time Paramedic to join our Transport EMS team at Baptist Health Hamburg & Lexington. You will provide direct patient care under medical director approved protocols and coordinate ambulance transport for emergency cases.

The role requires an active Kentucky Paramedic license, BLS, PALS and ACLS, and a valid driver's license. You will ensure vehicle readiness, complete accurate documentation, and work in a fast-paced, team-based environment

Qualifications

• Proven patient-care skills in EMS and ability to operate under medical director approved protocols.
• Documentation and reporting accuracy within required timeframes.
• Ability to recognize and respond to changes in patient condition in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care within department protocols and state scope of practice.
• Recognizes, responds to, and communicates changes in patient condition appropriately.
• Thoroughly and accurately completes all required documentation and patient care reports within required timeframe.
• Provides care appropriate to the emergency population and maintains the environment of care.
• Performs ambulance transportation services within the scope of practice of a Paramedic.
• Sets priorities for the transport of multiple patients.
• Assures resources and coordinates plan of delivery.
• Maintains knowledge of each vehicle in fleet to operate smoothly and safely.
• Ensures ambulance is clean, stocked and ready at start/end of shift and before every call.
• Ensures proper vehicle maintenance and ALS gear readiness and utilization.

Summary

Provides advanced life support care to patients who are ill and/or injured. Administers direct care to the patient of all age groups under the direction of an emergency medical physician, emergency physician’s assistant, and emergency advanced registered nurse practitioner or utilizes approved EMS medical protocols if transporting a patient. Ensures adherence to hospital and department policies as well as paramedic scope of practice.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• Active Paramedic license through the Kentucky Board of EMS at time of consideration.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider issued by AHA or ARC.
• PALS & ACLS certifications.
• Other certifications and specialty training as required by the Kentucky Board of EMS.
• Valid driver’s license.
