Baptist Health is seeking a part-time Paramedic to join the Transport EMS team at Baptist Health Hamburg & Lexington in Kentucky. You will provide advanced life support care under medical direction and transport patients as needed, ensuring readiness of ambulances and adherence to protocols.

Minimum qualifications include an active Kentucky Paramedic license, BLS, PALS and ACLS certifications, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Active Paramedic license through the Kentucky Board of EMS.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers issued by AHA or ARC.
• PALS & ACLS certifications.
• Other certifications and specialty training as required by the Kentucky Board of EMS.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsabilités

• Provide patient care within department protocols and state scope of practice.
• Recognize, respond to, and communicate changes in patient condition.
• Complete all required documentation and patient care reports within required timeframe.
• Provide care appropriate to the emergency population and maintain the environment of care.
• Perform ambulance transportation services within the scope of practice of a Paramedic.
• Set priorities for the transport of multiple patients.
• Assure resources and coordinate plan of delivery.
• Maintain knowledge of each vehicle in the fleet and operate safely.
• Ensure ambulance is clean, stocked, and response ready at start/end of each shift and before every service call.
• Ensure proper vehicle maintenance and ALS gear readiness and utilization.

Summary

Provides advanced life support care to patients who are ill and/or injured. Administers direct care to the patient of all age groups under the direction of an emergency medical physician, emergency physician's assistant, and emergency advanced registered nurse practitioner or utilizes approved EMS medical protocols if transporting a patient. Ensures adherence to hospital and department policies as well as paramedic scope of practice.

• Thoroughly and accurately completes all required documentation and patient care reports within required timeframe.
• Provides care appropriate to the emergency population and maintains the environment of care.
• Performs ambulance transportation services within the scope of practice of a Paramedic.
• Sets priorities for the transport of multiple patients.
• Assures resources and coordinates plan of delivery.
• Maintains knowledge and familiarity with each vehicle in fleet in order to operate smooth and safely.
• Assures ambulance is clean, stocked and response ready at the beginning and end of every shift as well as prior to each and every request for service.
• Ensures proper vehicle maintenance and equipment readiness as well as proper ALS gear readiness and utilization.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• Active Paramedic license through the Kentucky Board of EMS at time of consideration.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider issued by AHA or ARC.
• PALS & ACLS certifications.
• Other certifications and specialty training as required by the Kentucky Board of EMS.
