Baptist Health Louisville is seeking a part-time weekend Paramedic to join our Transport EMS team. Provides advanced life support and direct patient care under medical direction.

You will complete documentation, operate ambulances, maintain equipment, and ensure readiness. Minimum requirements include high school diploma, Kentucky Paramedic license, BLS, PALS and ACLS, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Active Kentucky Paramedic license at time of consideration.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider (AHA/ARC) current.
• PALS and ACLS certifications required.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provides advanced life support care under medical direction.
• Administers direct care to patients of all ages.
• Completes all required documentation and patient care reports within required timeframe.
• Performs ambulance transportation services within paramedic scope of practice.
• Sets priorities for transport of multiple patients.
• Ensures ambulance is clean, stocked and response ready.
• Maintains vehicle and equipment readiness, including ALS gear.

Summary

Provides advanced life support care to patients who are ill and/or injured. Administers direct care to the patient of all age groups under the direction of an emergency medical physician, emergency physician’s assistant, and emergency advanced registered nurse practitioner or utilizes approved EMS medical protocols if transporting a patient. Ensures adherence to hospital and department policies as well as paramedic scope of practice.

Baptist Health is looking for a part-time (24 hours per week) weekend only Paramedic to join our Transport EMS team at Baptist Health Louisville!

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides patient care within the medical director approved department protocols and state scope of practice.
• Recognizes, responds to, and communicates changes in patient condition appropriately.
• Thoroughly and accurately completes all required documentation and patient care reports within required timeframe.
• Provides care appropriate to the emergency population and maintains the environment of care.
• Performs ambulance transportation services within the scope of practice of a Paramedic.
• Sets priorities for the transport of multiple patients.
• Assures resources and coordinates plan of delivery.
• Maintains knowledge and familiarity with each vehicle in fleet in order to operate smooth and safely.
• Assures ambulance is clean, stocked and response ready at the beginning and end of every shift as well as prior to each and every request for service.
• Ensures proper vehicle maintenance and equipment readiness as well as proper ALS gear readiness and utilization.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• Active Paramedic license through the Kentucky Board of EMS at time of consideration.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider issued by AHA or ARC.
• PALS & ACLS certifications.
• Other certifications and specialty training as required by the Kentucky Board of EMS.
• Valid driver’s license.
