Job summary

Baptist Health Hamburg & Lexington is hiring a part-time Paramedic for our Transport EMS team. You will provide advanced life support to patients across age groups under medical direction and ensure adherence to EMS protocols and hospital policies.

Responsibilities include patient transport within scope of practice, timely documentation, vehicle and equipment readiness, and coordination of care for multiple patients as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Active Paramedic license through the Kentucky Board of EMS at time of consideration.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider (AHA/ARC) required.
• PALS and ACLS certifications required.
• Other Kentucky EMS certifications and specialty training as required.
• Valid driver's license required.

• Provide advanced life support and direct patient care per department protocols.
• Complete all required documentation and patient care reports within the required timeframe.
• Ensure ambulance and equipment readiness, including ALS gear, at shift start and after each call.

Administers direct care to the patient of all age groups under the direction of an emergency medical physician, emergency physician’s assistant, and emergency advanced registered nurse practitioner or utilizes approved EMS medical protocols if transporting a patient. Ensures adherence to hospital and department policies as well as paramedic scope of practice.

Baptist Health is looking for a part-time Paramedic to join our Transport EMS team at Baptist Health Hamburg & Lexington! Provides patient care within the medical director approved department protocols and state scope of practice. Recognizes, responds to, and communicates changes in patient condition appropriately. Thoroughly and accurately completes all required documentation and patient care reports within required timeframe. Provides care appropriate to the emergency population and maintains the environment of care. Performs ambulance transportation services within the scope of practice of a Paramedic. Sets priorities for the transport of multiple patients. Assures resources and coordinates plan of delivery. Maintains knowledge and familiarity with each vehicle in fleet in order to operate smooth and safely. Assures ambulance is clean, stocked and response ready at the beginning and end of every shift as well as prior to each and every request for service. Ensures proper vehicle maintenance and equipment readiness as well as proper ALS gear readiness and utilization.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• Active Paramedic license through the Kentucky Board of EMS at time of consideration.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider issued by AHA or ARC.
• PALS & ACLS certifications.
• Other certifications and specialty training as required by the Kentucky Board of EMS.
• Valid driver's license.
