Job summary

Essentia Health is expanding emergency medical services to the Superior, WI region and launching Destination Superior. We are seeking dedicated Paramedics and EMTs to deliver high-quality care and help shape this growing EMS program.

Positions involve diverse locations (Moose Lake, Pine City, Hinckley, Superior, Sandstone) with shift patterns including 12, 18, or 24 hours, and require current paramedic licensure and state certifications.

Qualifications

• Responds to emergent and non-emergent calls &/or hospital codes.
• Provides Medical Support & Care for Patients in pre-hospital and/or hospital environment.
• Assists in ongoing assessment to determine best course of treatment.
• Provides advanced medical care and basic life support using devices and modalities.
• Schedule will consist of 12, 18, or 24-hour shifts.

We are seeking dedicated Paramedics and EMTs who are passionate about delivering high-quality care and want to help shape the future of this growing service.

This position is a part of our I-35 Regional EMS and Superior operations, with report to work locations in Moose Lake, Pine City, Hinckley, Superior, and Sandstone. ***

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Responds to an emergent and non-emergent calls &/or hospital codes
• Provides Medical Support & Care for Patients in the pre-hospital and/or hospital environment
• Assists in the ongoing assessment of patients by identifying the patient's needs and requirements to determine best course of treatment
• Provides advanced medical care and basic life support service to patients using appropriate medical equipment, devices and treatment modalities
• Schedule will consist of 12, 18, or 24-hour shifts.

Licensure/Certification Qualifications

• State licensure/certification as a Paramedic or a Registered Nurse authorized to operate as a Paramedic in the appropriate state of practice.
• All Wisconsin location staff must be dual licensed in Minnesota and Wisconsin Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification required at time of hire
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification required at time of hire
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification (or must obtain within 6 months of hire)
• Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license as verified through appropriate licensing agency
• Must meet the driving requirements and criteria acceptable to Essentia Health 's insurer
• State Background check must provide clearance to work with vulnerable adults.
