Job summary

Essentia Health is expanding its EMS services in Superior, WI and seeks dedicated Paramedics and EMTs to join a brand-new Destination Superior initiative. The role offers flexible shift options (two 18-hour shifts or a 24-hour shift plus a 12-hour shift) and a $5,000–$7,500 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates.

Candidates must hold paramedic licensure and meet state and insurer requirements, with BCLS/ACLS at hire and PALS within six months.

Qualifications

• State Paramedic licensure or RN authorized as Paramedic.
• Dual licensure in MN and WI for WI locations.
• BCLS and ACLS certifications required at time of hire.
• PALS certification (or must obtain within 6 months).
• Valid driver's license and driving clearances as required.
• Background check clearance for vulnerable adults.

Responsibilities

• Responds to emergent and non-emergent calls and hospital codes.
• Provides medical care and supports patients in pre-hospital or hospital settings.
• Assesses patient needs to determine best course of treatment.
• Delivers advanced medical care and basic life support using appropriate equipment.
• Shift schedule includes two 18-hour shifts or one 24-hour shift plus one 12-hour shift per week.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Responds to an emergent and non-emergent calls &/or hospital codes
• Provides Medical Support & Care for Patients in the pre-hospital and/or hospital environment
• Assists in the ongoing assessment of patients by identifying the patient's needs and requirements to determine best course of treatment
• Provides advanced medical care and basic life support service to patients using appropriate medical equipment, devices and treatment modalities
• Schedule: Two 18-hour shifts OR one 24-hour shift + one 12-hour shift per week

Licensure/Certification Qualifications

• State licensure/certification as a Paramedic or a Registered Nurse authorized to operate as a Paramedic in the appropriate state of practice.
• All Wisconsin location staff must be dual licensed in Minnesota and Wisconsin
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification required at time of hire
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification required at time of hire
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification (or must obtain within 6 months of hire)
• Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license as verified through appropriate licensing agency
• Must meet the driving requirements and criteria acceptable to Essentia Health 's insurer
• State Background check must provide clearance to work with vulnerable adults.
