Job summary

CoxHealth is seeking a Paramedic to serve as the primary director of care in emergency and non-emergency situations in Springfield, MO. You will provide rapid assessment, administer immediate medical care, and document all actions under EMS supervision.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Missouri licensure as EMT-P or EMT-CP with Community Paramedicine Endorsement.
  • For-hire driver’s license (Class E) or greater (CDL) for ambulance operation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform CPR, use AED, ventilation, and control hemorrhaging as needed.
  • Document all care provided under EMS direction.
  • Operate ambulance in various road conditions and transport patients safely.

Responsible for examining, evaluating and providing quick diagnoses in order to administer immediate and proper medical care. Responsible for providing basic medical support including CPR, AED, ventilation, controlling hemorrhaging, etc. The Paramedic also performs more invasive techniques to stabilize the patient’s condition. The Paramedic is responsible for documenting all aspects of care provided under their direction by EMS services. Operates the ambulance in various road conditions to safely transport patients to medical facilities.Education: Required: High School Diploma or EquivalentExperience: Preferred: Previous EMT experienceSkills: Must be 18 years of age Calmly and efficiently perform and make appropriate decisions rapidly under stress in emergency situations. Ability to work outdoors. Ability to follow instructions.
