CoxHealth South in Springfield, MO, seeks a Paramedic to serve as the primary director of care in emergency and non-emergency settings. You will assess patients quickly, provide critical support, and document care under EMS direction.

Job Description

• The Paramedic acts as the primary director of care in emergency and non-emergency situations by providing efficient and immediate care for patients.
• Responsible for examining, evaluating and providing quick diagnoses in order to administer immediate and proper medical care.
• Responsible for providing basic medical support including CPR, AED, ventilation, controlling hemorrhaging, etc.
• The Paramedic also performs more invasive techniques to stabilize the patient’s condition.
• The Paramedic is responsible for documenting all aspects of care provided under their direction by EMS services.
• Operates the ambulance in various road conditions to safely transport patients to medical facilities.

Education

• Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Preferred: Previous EMT experience

• Must be 18 years of age
• Calmly and efficiently perform and make appropriate decisions rapidly under stress in emergency situations.
• Ability to work outdoors.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Is familiar with age specific needs for the patient population served.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

• Required: Current Missouri licensure as E.M.T.- P or E.M.T. - CP with Community Paramedicine Endorsement AND For-hire driver’s license (Class E) or greater (CDL) for operation of an ambulance in the state of residence.
