Isle of Wight County Fire Rescue is seeking a full-time Fire Medic IV (Paramedic) to provide Emergency Medical Services and fire protection in both emergency and non-emergency situations. The role includes operating a mobile medical unit, rescuing victims, and delivering advanced care on-site and en route to the hospital.

The position requires a Virginia-paramedic certification, CPR, EVOC, HazMat awareness, and a valid driver’s license, with formal EMT/paramedic training and up-to-date

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1-2 years of related work experience preferred.
• Vocational/technical training in emergency medical services, firefighting is recommended.

Responsabilités

• Provide EMS and fire protection in emergency and non-emergency situations.
• Operate a mobile medical unit and perform advanced emergency care on-site and during transport.
• Rescue victims and administer life-sustaining care per protocols.
• Drive ambulances and participate in patient assessment and transport.
• Maintain equipment, records, and comply with safety procedures.
