Job summary

Isle of Wight County Fire Rescue seeks a full-time Fire Medic III (EMT-Intermediate). Under general supervision, the role provides Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and fire protection in both emergency and non-emergency situations.

The position operates an approved mobile medical unit, rescues victims, and performs advanced emergency care on-site and during transport to hospital. Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma, 1–2 years of related experience, and EMT-Intermediate

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years related work experience (preferred).
• EMS/Fire tech training in emergency medical services, firefighting.

Responsibilities

• Responds to calls to provide EMS and basic/advanced life support care.
• Operates a mobile medical unit and ambulances; administers advanced life support.
• Performs rescue, patient assessment, airway management, IV therapy, and medication administration as directed.
