Job summary

South Howell County Ambulance District is seeking a Field Supervisor who will serve as Safety Officer and Preceptor. The position supports Operations by stepping in during supervisor absences and ensures duty crews and equipment are ready for duty.

You will mentor EMT and Paramedic students, coordinate QA efforts, and maintain up-to-date status boards to keep field and office staff informed. This role requires a Paramedic with MO license, EMT-P, and at least one year of paramedic experience;

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and EMT-P education.
• Meets Paramedic skill set criteria.
• One-year experience as a paramedic.
• Current MO Paramedic license; National Registry a plus.
• Valid MO Class F or higher driver’s license.
• Computer skills with PowerPoint, Excel and Word for data analysis and reports.
• Excellent communication as intermediary between field staff and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Ensures ambulances are checked off, crews assigned, and ready for duty.
• Ensures shift equipment and room assignments are prepared.
• As safety officer, resolves safety issues and reports to Operations supervisor.
• Collaborates with supervisors to complete shift duties and maintain professional stations/equipment.
• Quarterly meetings with other supervisors to review strategies and improve training, documentation, processes and communication.
• As Preceptor, completes course and mentors EMT and Paramedic students, new hires and shadowing staff.
• Reports issues to Operations supervisor and Clinical Ops manager.
• Keeps status boards updated to reflect shift changes for the team.
• Works with Operations supervisor on clinical documentation review and QA issues.
• Functions as Operations supervisor during LDT, illness, or vacation leave.
• Models professional behavior aligned with district vision and policies.
