Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Field Supervisor to oversee EMTs and Paramedics in direct patient care and pre-hospital operations. The role involves making operational decisions in the absence of regional leadership and providing inservice training and driving instruction to staff.

The incumbent must hold an EMT-P license, Hazmat awareness, ACLS at hire, and PALS within 6 months. Strong physical fitness and leadership experience are required to manage challenging environments and equipment handling.

Qualifications

• Paramedic (EMT-P) license required for the state of practice
• Hazmat awareness training completed, ACLS at hire, PALS within 6 months
• Must be at least 21 years old
• Must meet physical requirements including ability to lift and move patients/equipment
• Pre-hire and annual fitness-for-duty testing will be conducted

Responsibilities

• Supervise EMTs and Paramedics in daily routine and pre-hospital care
• Make operational decisions in absence of Manager-Regional EMS or Supervisor-Operations
• Instruct EMTs and Paramedics in inservice training and driving
• Provide direct patient care and clinical leadership in the field
• Support EMS operations and collaborate with Mercy Health System leadership
