Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must have a current driver's license.
• Must provide a current Motor Vehicle Report and meet insurer standards.
• Must have Georgia Advanced EMT or South Carolina Advanced EMT with NREMT.
• Must have current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
• One year EMT experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate an emergency vehicle and provide medical treatment within scope.
• Maintain knowledge of GCEMS protocols, territory, and hospitals.
• Know GCEMS radio signals and procedures.
• Stay updated on emergency medicine practices via study.
• Inventory and account for drugs, IV fluids, supplies, equipment.
• Assist with unit and equipment maintenance; report deficiencies.
• Take command at scenes and coordinate with on-scene officers.
• Work as a team; driver/technician roles may rotate.
• Drive safely as EVO with Due Regard and established guidelines.
• Comply with all policies, procedures, and protocols.
