Qualifications

• Successful completion of a Paramedic program.
• Current Florida Paramedic (PMD) certification with biennial renewal.
• Maintenance of BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
• Maintains ACLS certification; may need PALS within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Delivers patient care with advanced skills in Emergency Department, Critical Care or Respiratory settings as directed.
• Adheres to Florida paramedic practice model; adapts in-hospital settings.
• Communicates patient status to RN, RT, and ED/CCP providers; documents care.
• Ensures patient safety, infection control and proper handling of hazardous materials.
• Prioritizes and sequences tasks to ensure patient comfort, safety and progress toward goals.
• Administers limited medications within education and competency guidelines.
• Facilitates patient movement, admissions, discharges and transfers.
• Maintains regular attendance and compliance with Orlando Health policies.
