Job summary

Orlando Health Sebastian River Hospital is seeking a Paramedic to deliver advanced patient care in the Emergency Department, with collaboration across RN, RT and physicians. You will perform assessments, respond to emergencies, and support patient movement through admissions, transfers and discharges.

The role requires Florida Paramedic certification, BLS and ACLS, with opportunities to pursue PALS within one year.

Qualifications

• Successfully completed a Paramedic program.
• Current Florida Paramedic (PMD) certification, renewed every 2 years.
• Maintains BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
• Maintains ACLS certification.
• May obtain/maintain PALS within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Delivers patient care requiring advanced skills and judgment in the ED, Critical Care or Respiratory settings as directed by the Medical Director.
• Communicates patient condition to RN, RT, ED or Critical Care providers; documents findings as per guidelines.
• Facilitates timely admissions, discharges and transfers; supports patient movement within the department.
• Administers limited medications safely within defined education guidelines and competencies.
• Maintains patient safety, infection control and adherence to policies and procedures.
