Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of EMT certification program and paramedic training with current Indiana licensure.
• BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications through the AHA are required.
• Experience in ambulance service, hospital, or military settings preferred.
• Knowledge of pharmacology and medication side effects; aseptic technique.
• Familiarity with emergency department equipment and patient care procedures.

Responsibilities

• Care for ill/injured patients in emergency and non-emergency situations.
• Relay and receive information about patient and condition.
• Comply with regulatory requirements, hospital policies and safety rules.
• Begin IVs, administer medications, assist RNs during trauma cases.
• Provide education and discharge information to patients and families.
