Job summary

IU Health in Indianapolis is seeking a full-time Paramedic for a set 12-hour shift schedule. You will provide care, transport, and treatment for ill or injured patients in emergency and non-emergency settings, and relay patient information to receiving teams.

Responsibilities include complying with regulatory and hospital policies, and operating within Indiana Paramedic scope of practice. You may drive ambulances, transport patients, record ambulance runs, and assist with billing and daily

Qualifications

• Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent required. ACLS;BLS;PALS;EMT-P Indiana Paramedic license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required upon hire.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or its equivalency to be obtained within initial probationary period.
• Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) or its equivalency must be obtained within initial probationary period.
• NIMS 100, 200, 700, 800 to be obtained with initial probationary period.
• Minimum of 1 year ALS Paramedic experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Care, transport, and treatment of ill/injured patients in emergency and non-emergency situations.
• Relay and receive information regarding patient condition.
• Comply with regulatory requirements, departmental policy and practice, safety policies and hospital policies, and operate within the scope of a Paramedic as defined by the state of Indiana.
• May drive ambulance to and from referral hospital.
• May be required to transport patients.
• May be required to obtain consents and authorizations from patient or legal guardians.
• May be required to record time of ambulance run.
• May be required to process billing and daily reports.
