Zusammenfassung

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) in Waterloo, IA to support plasma center operations. You will determine donor eligibility, review test results, and manage donor safety under Center Manager guidance.

The role requires EMT-Paramedic licensing, CPR/AED certification, and basic IV therapy knowledge, with at least two years in a clinical setting. Sign-on bonus available.

Qualifikationen

• Must be licensed or certified as EMT-Paramedic in the state of responsibilities.
• Current CPR and AED certification is required.
• Basic IV therapy knowledge/ability to meet state requirements for IV therapy.
• Experience in clinical or hospital settings preferred (two years).

Aufgaben

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, medical history interview, physical exam, and review of test results.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs and Center Physician standing orders.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical issues and donor safety.
• Support vaccination programs (Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu) for employees where applicable.
• Manage employee incidents with EHS guidance and assist investigations as needed.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist community investigations.
